Old School Blogging. I kind of miss it. It’s where we write, put our soul out there a bit, share, people comment and invest back into your story and vice versa. My friend Elaine and I are focusing on that this week by sharing five random things you may not have known about us (or you missed it in the earlier days of our blogging) – somewhat random, and in no particular order (for me).
1.) I love to plan parties. Themed parties where everything is cohesively strung together have become a fun pursuit in recent years. I never really have the time to do it often, but when I make it happen, it feeds my creative soul.
Here are a few, if you’re interested:
There would be more, but blogging about them takes a lot of effort…I give a lot of credit to those who do the DIY, party planning, food, craft of blogging all the time. It’s no joke.
2.) I am fiercely loyal to my friends. Sometimes to a fault and to my own detriment. I have very often found myself hurt. However, as I have gotten older, I have found myself much more outspoken, sometimes to my own detriment. I have realized however, my relationships, in the long term are healthier when I speak up about what’s bothering me and those who are my true friends – usually hear me out and are equally as honest and forthcoming regarding their own emotions. We always survive, and we are always better for it.
3.) I met my husband at the wedding of a high school friend. He was a groomsman and I was a guest. I had flown up to the wedding with my high school boyfriend, who I was rooming with at the wedding, but was not dating – because I had left my live-in boyfriend at home. Let that sink in for a minute.
My husband I have been married for over 12 years now. Oh, and the guy who introduced us? He was the best man at our wedding.
4.) I got to live and travel in the UK for six weeks for an internship when I was in college. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I wish I had taken more photos. Until this past Spring when I went to see my husband in Spain – I had yet to travel out of the country again, which was a bit depressing. I was reminded this past April, how magical new places can be.
5.) I am the mother of monoamniotic-monochorionic twins. This is something, that if you’ve known me long, you already know. But, since this is premature awareness month, it bears repeating. My girls had a 50% shot of making it to viability – which in hospital/doctor terms means 24-26 weeks. With Momo-twins (as we call them), you’re hospitalized at that point and you work to keep those little fighters in until 32 weeks. We made it until 28 weeks, (Charlotte is a stinker), and then spent another eleven weeks in the hospital so our 2lb preemies could grow stronger. It’s been quite the journey. In fact, it will be the five year anniversary of my entering the hospital for bedrest with them…next….week. Simply…amazing.
Share one random thing with me about you in the comments, I would love it. That’s old school blogging, when we truly interact. I promise, I’ll comment back. And, if you choose to write your own post, please link up with Elaine and I! The linky will be open for ten days!
