Images aren’t all they seem. From just looking at this photo what do you get from it? You may be thinking to yourself, these are just two adorable little girls, watching some television before they head off to bed at a reasonable hour.
You may be thinking, perhaps, that they are having a fun movie night
“oh how cute are they all sprawled out on the floor enjoying the evening together.”
But here’s the truth.
(in my best Sofia from Golden Girls voice)
it’s 1:30 am on a Monday eve…make that Tuesday morning…you’ve been awake for an hour and a half already because one of two twins rose you from a dead sleep with her cries where you stumbled out of bed and found her completely covered in her own vomit.
Every mom’s dream come true, no?
While you undress her and strip the chunk-filled bedding, you remember how just yesterday, as your oldest was throwing up, that you were certain the twins would get this nasty little bug and you had hoped they wouldn’t start puking overnight.
Damn it, if you didn’t jinx yourself.
Fast forward to 1:30am…
Madison has now puked
three four times. Charlotte is awake and not yet sick, but awake nonetheless having heard her sister. She proceeds to cover her ears and cringe each and every time Madison throws up. Through all of this you find it endearing that after she uncovers her ears, Charlotte brings you wipes to help remove the remaining bits left on Maddie’s sad face while simultaneously patting her back and you mentally note to yourself that you’ve done a little something right with these two.
But I digress….back to the photograph.
This is the true story behind the above photo my friends.
And the culprit…patient zero….
Now wait a minute…don’t let that sweet face and ridiculously adorable messy hair lure you in – she’s the reason I have to shake chunks of puke out of bedspreads and hold my breath while bringing lovies into the wash room.
She’s the reason I will likely be puking my guts out in 12-24 short hours my friends. I may have to write her out of the will.
