I can be pretty reflective here on Moments that Define Life. I like to share my unending love for my daughters and reflect in a way that hopefully helps my readers to grow along with me. But today, I’m taking a slightly different approach…a little less serious, if you will.
I give you 10 things I am thankful for.
What other store can you strap in your twins with a bag of popcorn, grab a cup of coffee, pick up groceries or a good box wine… what? … I’m classy…
browse for clothes, shoes and toys all at the same time? This is a genius concept and Target officially takes the bulk of my budget.
It has become my sanity, what can I say.
2.) Baby Monitors
Where else can you watch the antics of your toddlers? It’s quite the scene watching them jump on their “trampoline”, throw teddy bears at each other while giggling and squealing in delight.
I may or may not have several video clips of them doing this.
3.) Hot Shoes
Nothing can get me out of my “Momma-funk” like a pair of hot shoes. I’ve been known to throw a cocktail party requiring said shoes just so I can wear mine….Exhibit A…
4.) Fridge Art
Little handprint Turkeys and self-portraits by my six year old complete with her 100% spelling test makes me smile…it’s the teacher in me, what can I say.
Add in a photo with my handsome hubby and every time I open that fridge I am reminded of all the things I love so much, just by grabbing a glass of milk.
Music along with coffee is my sanity. Adele, LMFAO, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige….they take me to my happy place, inspire me to move forward and sooth my soul. For example, the song below, my new favorite. If you have the time, listen to it all, the end is my favorite.
Ok…so that was a smidge reflective and serious….
6.) Girls Night Out
Girl talk, great food and a few hours where I’m not thinking about anything else but nonsense conversation and maybe even a little dancing? Yes, please!
Oh how I love thee. I can clean out my inbox with the swipe of my finger, listen to all my favorite tunes and keep up with my twitter stream. No other smart phone has compared.
I am smitten.
8.) Child Labor
My oldest is just now getting to the point where she can really help with keeping up the house. It’s amazing what a difference it makes to have someone who can pick up after themselves. Now if only I could get the twins to do this…
That is a smile she’s sporting, I swear.
9.) Damn You, Autocorrect
I have never laughed so hard in my life with tears literally streaming down my face. Having a good laugh is a great way to brighten up a stressful day….enter Damn You, Autocorrect…
10.) Photo booths
I love the photo booth trend. Silly hats, boas, etc….or just a snuggle with my girl…they are so much fun.
What seemingly frivolous things are you thankful for? It really is the “little things” folks.
